    • Effectiveness
    Independent studies of the effects of the Project Citizen program reveal that it has a significant impact on the civic knowledge of young people, their civic skills and their propensity to participate in civic and political life, as well as an appreciation for the difficulty in creating laws that are constitutionally correct.

    Incentives
    Trainings are provided throughout the year at no charge. Special trainings can be arranged for individual schools, teacher in-service days, after-school programs and one-on-one, as needed.
    Free curriculum includes a teacher's guide and 30 student texts, delivered upon the completion of training.

    Certificates of recognition are provided for students who participate in the program.
    The state winner receives a plaque and special recognition at its Awards Day.  Teachers implementing Project Citizen are encouraged to apply for the LRE Teacher of the Year Award, which comes with a $1,000 recognition award.
