The South Carolina Bar has partnered with public libraries across South Carolina to offer the Law Talk program.  Law Talks are free legal education events open to the public.  Each Law Talk is taught by a SC licensed attorney or judge and typically includes a 30-45 minute presentation followed by a brief question and answer session.

Popular topics include:

  • Wills, Estates, and Probate
  • Family Law
  • Consumer Law and Debt Collection
  • Landlord Tenant Law
  • Criminal Law
  • Elder Law… and more!

Law Talk sessions are designed to provide general legal information on the topic presented.  They are not designed to provide guidance on your specific situation.  If you need legal advice on a specific situation, you will need to consult with an attorney outside of the event setting.

If you are a librarian who would like to request a Law Talk session at your library or if you are an attorney who would like to volunteer to speak at a Law Talk, please contact volunteer coordinator, Kristin Magee at Kristin.magee@scbar.org or (803) 576-3798.
