Joining a Section is a valuable way to stay informed, become more involved in the legal profession, and connect with colleagues who share your interests and areas of practice.
Membership in one or more of the South Carolina Bar's 18 Sections provides opportunities to connect and collaborate with attorneys who share your practice areas and professional interests. Section membership allows you to tailor your Bar experience to the specific needs of your practice while expanding your professional network.
Sections offer a variety of benefits, including:
- Newsletters and practice-area updates
- Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs
- Electronic discussion groups and mailing lists
- Networking and leadership opportunities
- Projects and initiatives that benefit both members and the public
Section Sign-Ups
Section memberships are selected annually during the Bar license renewal process.
- Sign-up period: During annual license dues renewal, ending December 31
- Section memberships do not automatically renew
- Members must enroll each year to continue their participation
