Hopeful Horizons, a nonprofit children's advocacy, domestic violence and rape crisis center serving the South Carolina Lowcountry, is seeking a part-time contract attorney to join its Legal Department and provide litigation services in Family Court and other Courts for adult victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The contract attorney position is based in Beaufort and serves clients in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties. The contract attorney will work with Legal Department support staff under the supervision of the staff attorney/legal program director. The position requires 20 hours per week.

Qualified applicants must: be a member of the SC Bar; have completed Rule 403 requirements; have family law experience; have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; work and communicate effectively in a team environment; have knowledge of and sensitivity to the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault; have a non-judgmental attitude; have a valid driver’s license and good driving record; and pass background checks.
