Associate General Counsel
Full-Time Role
ROPER ST. FRANCIS HEALTHCARE | CHARLESTON, SC

Provide legal advice and counsel to support internal clients and serve as lead attorney in certain substantive legal areas. Assist with management of the system's relations with outside counsel performing RSFH's legal work and monitor the expenses associated with such work within the approved system budget.

We seek an Associate General Counsel with the following credentials:

Required:

  • J.D degree from accredited U.S. law school.
  • Minimum of 10 years of healthcare-related legal experience.
  • Admission of the Bar of the State of South Carolina required or if from out of state, must be eligible for and seek admission to the SC Bar as soon as possible.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of law relating to key in-house responsibilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver accurate responses in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with computers and software including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and communication systems
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills essential to positive interaction with people of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and working well with patients, physicians, other healthcare professionals and the general public.
  • Ability to occasionally travel (including by plane) on RSFH business for ongoing professional education.
