Goals
- Continue to develop relationships with consumer law professors at USC Rice School of Law and the Charleston School of Law and seek volunteers to speak on consumer law topics and careers.
- Review consumer law information currently available to the public and determine if there are issues that are not being addressed. If so, establish ways of providing education to the public.
- Explore existing options for member participation, including public outreach (i.e., producing programs that would focus on financial abuse of the elderly), pro bono opportunities, and SC Bar programs; and encourage Section involvement.
- Identify ways to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Section and its leadership.
- Continue to host a seminar at the SC Bar Convention.
- Conduct a complementary CLE lunch and learn program during Mental Health Awareness Month in May that would qualify for SA/MH credit.
- Continue to inform Section members of significant developments related to consumer law (resourceful links, articles, legislative updates, etc.) through the Section community platform, in E-Blast, the Bar Website, and various other social media outlets.
