On March 28, the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Program partnered with South Carolina Legal Services to host a Wills Clinic in Georgetown County, offering essential estate planning services to Habitat for Humanity homeowners.

Throughout the afternoon, 19 families received assistance in executing wills, helping to ensure their homes and assets are legally protected for future generations.

For many low-income families, financial barriers and limited access to legal resources often make formal estate planning unattainable. However, having a will is crucial in avoiding probate disputes that can result in forced property sales or the loss of inherited homes. The clinic aimed to provide peace of mind and long-term security for participating homeowners.

The event was made possible by the generosity of volunteer attorneys who donated their time and expertise, including Katlin Floyd, Jon Ozolins, Bess Lochocki, Joel Hynes, Glenn Ohanesian, Nate Fata, Natasha Hanna, Fay Johnson, and Brenda Gorski. The Bar also thanked the Coastal Inn of Court for its support in making the clinic a success.
