Understanding the Law
While you may not be a lawyer, it is important to understand the law and how it affects you. The South Carolina Bar has partnered with technical colleges across South Carolina to sponsor Law School for Non-Lawyers, an 8-week course designed to provide an overview of the SC legal system and insight into 16 common legal issues. All classes are taught by licensed attorneys and judges.
Law School for Non-Lawyers classes are designed to provide general legal information on the topics presented. The classes are not designed to provide guidance on your specific situation. For personalized legal advice, please consult with an attorney outside of the course setting.
Attorneys or judges wishing to teach classes and people seeking to bring this course to a technical college in their area should contact volunteer coordinator, Kristin Magee at (803) 576-3798.
