Job Summary

Sodoma Law is a law firm with 7 offices across North Carolina and South Carolina. Over the years, our practice areas have expanded to include trusts and estates, adoption, mediation, immigration, and more; however, our main area of practice continues to be family law.

We are seeking a Family Law Attorney for our office in Greenville, South Carolina who can support other senior attorneys serve clients with cases involving child custody, child support, divorce, domestic violence, and other delicate family law issues. This person can be someone who sat for the July 2025 Bar Exam, plans to sit for the February 2026 Bar Exam or someone with 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited:

• Assist in providing competent legal advice to family law clients under the guidance of senior attorneys, including participation in hearings, settlement negotiations, and mediations.

• Support and gradually take ownership of various phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.

• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents with supervision as needed.

• Maintain strong, compassionate, and professional client communication throughout the case lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure effective case management.

• Participate in business development activities, such as building professional relationships, networking, and developing early referral sources.

• Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.

Qualifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina State bar.

• 0-3 years’ (or more) experience working in a law firm. (Family law preferred).

• Demonstrates passion to practice family law.

• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills specifically in high stress and emotional situations.

• Ability to maintain professionalism while showing empathy to all clients.

• Active members of their community (Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson County involvement is a plus).

Requirements

Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required

Experience: 0-3 Years of Family Law or Litigation Experience
