Lyles & Associates, an established civil firm, is seeking an office manager/paralegal. The firm is based in Sullivan's Island, South Carolina but practices throughout the state and has a second office in Beaufort, South Carolina. The Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing the administrative operations of our both offices, ensuring smooth workflow, and supporting the efficient functioning of our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail, as well as familiarity with the legal field and paralegal duties. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize effectively, and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coach Office Services, Legal Executive Assistants, and Client Service employees, as well as local Non-Exempt staff.
Oversee social and client events in office.
Communicate job expectations; coach and manage employees.
Interact with property management and local subtenants.
Act as a sounding board and “go to” resource for partners and associates - taking the office temperature. Feed relevant information and issues to the appropriate resource.
Help monitor and manage annual budget / reconcile and track expenses. Assist with budgeting and invoice approval. Manage and reconcile petty cash. Write operating account checks.
Assist with onboarding new attorneys and business professionals. Ensure offices are set up and ready for new hires.
Coordinate billing and invoicing to clients
Plan coverage for absences and manage overtime support as needed. Schedule, approve, and maintain attendance.
Help recruit, select, orient, and train business professionals.
Act as initial contact for employee relations issues; escalate when necessary.
Ensure compliance with Firm policies and procedures.
Limited paralegal case work including discovery, document review, and drafting.
Requirements
Education: Bachelors
Experience: 3+ years preferred
