About the Seminar
Diversity is part of life on all levels; yet there are common threads that tie people and concepts together. Jody McKnight explores diversity and commonality amongst jurors at trial, their common ground. He explores storytelling and analogies to effectively communicate to the hearts and minds of jurors. He also explores the seamless web of statutes, regulations, and the cardinal rule of statutory construction, that being the determination of legislative intent, which is the common, binding force that holds the seamless web together. Finally, he explores commonality amongst attorneys, the difference between mastery and success, and the importance of valuing “the near win,” as expressed in a video excerpt by Sarah Lewis on TEDx.
