About the Seminar
Educating Lawyers in the art of trial advocacy is a primary goal of the Foundation of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Rather than a “Do As I Say” approach, the Masters in Trial takes a “Do As I Do” approach. The trial teams are made up of noteworthy and well-respected litigators who are also members of ABOTA. This mock trial demonstration is presented before The Honorable Mary Geiger Lewis, United States District Court Judge. The trial will include witnesses, experts, courtroom visuals, and even a jury who will render a verdict. Attendees will be able to view the jury deliberations live on-screen in the seminar room.
This products liability case involves a business owner who claims that exposure to artificial flavoring in his popcorn business caused severe lung damage. The plaintiff’s team will address complex scientific and medical issues. The defense will claim contributory negligence and will address historical documents indicating knowledge of risk. The SKILLS you will see demonstrated are applicable to virtually every other civil case. This is a program that will be of value to attorneys who are just beginning their trial practice, as well as experienced attorneys who appreciate observing new ideas and methods.
Whether you are a novice or seasoned trial lawyer, plaintiff or defense counsel, this program will assist you in your practice as a lawyer, as well as your future trials. This seminar is designed to teach by example, and the skills you will observe are applicable to all civil cases and to how you should conduct yourself as an officer of the court.
Come see how the Masters handle it!
