ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Throughout South Carolina, dedicated guardians ad litem declare, “I am for the child!” Begin your journey to certification or update your knowledge base with the SC Bar CLE Division’s 2018 GAL Training and Update. Faculty from across the state will provide guidance on issues facing guardians today. This year’s edition includes advice from renowned psychologists Allison Foster, Marc Harari and Helen Wheeler; a child-related caselaw update from James Fletcher Thompson; a panel discussion with distinguished family court judges; and insight on: how domestic abuse impacts children from Leslie Fisk of SC Legal Services, handling child and parent meetings from Katherine Ferguson, reflections on helping the mediator from Sean Keefer, balancing expectations between the lawyer and guardian from Greg Forman, and autism-related issues from Meredith Manley and Lorri Unumb of Autism Speaks.
