South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce seeks Administrative Hearing Officer.  

Job Responsibilities
These temporary grant, telework eligible positions report to the Appeals Department in Columbia. Incumbents will conduct administrative hearings, receive and develop evidence, make rulings, draft and render decisions on Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits, complex UI tax, trade, and other applicable cases that are in dispute.  Applies relevant laws, regulations and policies.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
  • Must be well-organized with a demonstrated ability to work independently; be proficient in legal writing; have ability to analyze and synthesize facts, evidence, and law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience with Administrative Law, Unemployment Insurance, and/or contested proceedings preferred.
