The SC Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is sponsoring its 16th annual Cinderella Project, which provides gently worn formal, bridesmaid and prom dresses for young women who lack the financial resources to buy a gown for their high school prom. Participants will have the opportunity to “shop” for dresses, jewelry and shoes at no cost.

“As the Cinderella Project celebrates its very own Sweet Sixteen this year, we are so happy to have helped so many students get to the prom throughout the last 16 years,” said Sheila Bias, YLD’s Cinderella Project Committee Chair. “It has been our pleasure to provide so many students with the dress of their dreams and assist so many parents with the financial burdens of prom.”

The Anderson boutique will be held on Saturday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anderson County Library (300 N. McDuffie St., Anderson 29621).

The Greenwood boutique will be held on Saturday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Street United Methodist Church (211 N. Main St., Greenwood 29646).

The Orangeburg boutique will be held on Saturday, March 4, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Catch the Vision (1425 Russell St., Orangeburg 29115).

“The best part about the boutique is seeing the students’ faces light up when they find that perfect dress,” said Bias. “It is also really rewarding to be able to ease the parents’ financial burdens by sending their children to prom for free.”
