The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) launched its second South Carolina Legal Feeding Frenzy in honor of Community Law Week. The event will be online this year through May 9 to assist food banks throughout the state in their time of need during the pandemic.

“We thought it was extremely fitting in these challenging times for the SCLFF to demonstrate how the South Carolina legal community is truly in this together to help those in need,” said Paige Ornduff, who serves as co-chair of the project with Ashley Johnson. “Unlike 2019, this year’s SCLFF is not a competition among participating law firms, organizations and agencies. Rather, it is meant to encourage the legal community to stand together in support of one another and the community. We hope all of our colleagues who are in a position to give will donate to area food banks and food rescue organizations."

Food banks across the state need monetary donations now more than ever as many South Carolinians are facing significant economic hardship and food insecurity. Because of the nationwide COVID-19 crisis, our food banks cannot rely on receiving extra resources from other states and are in need of direct community assistance.

Please visit www.scbar.org/sclff and donate to a food bank or food rescue organization in your area of the state.
