COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug. 28, 2017)—The SC Bar Pro Bono Program will sponsor nine free legal clinics in the Midlands in September. The schedule is as follows:

  • September 12—Wills, Estates and Probate, presented by Robert D. Hazel. The clinic will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Lexington County Public Library (5440 Augusta Rd., Lexington 29072).
  • September 12—Identity Theft, Fraud and Scams, presented by Carri Grube Lybarker. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Richland Library-Eastover Branch (608 Main St., Eastover 29044).
  • September 19—Landlord and Tenant Law Issues, presented by Ryan W. Lane III. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the South Congaree-Pine Ridge Branch Library (200 Sunset Dr., W. Columbia 29172).
  • September 19—Landlord and Tenant Law Issues, presented by W. Thomas Causby. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Richland Library-Ballentine Branch (1200 Dutch Fork Rd., Irmo 29063).
  • September 21—Adoption Law Issues, presented by Bonnie P. Horn. The clinic will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Richland Library (1431 Assembly St., Columbia 29201).
  • September 23—Wills and End of Life Issues, presented as part of the Community Resource Fair by Patricia Armstrong. The clinic will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church (1725 Gervais St., Columbia 29201).
  • September 25—Family Law Issues, including divorce, custody, visitation and support, presented by William B. Fortino. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Gaston Branch Library (214 S. Main St., Gaston 29053).
  • September 26—Family Law Issues, including divorce, custody, visitation and support, presented by William B. Fortino. The clinic will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cayce-West Columbia Branch Library (1500 Augusta Rd., W. Columbia 29169).
  • September 30—Wills, Estates and Probate, presented by Henrietta Gill. The clinic will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Pelion Branch Library (206 Pine St., Pelion 29123).

These seminars are free for anyone who would like to attend. The format typically consists of an overview followed by a question and answer session. A schedule of other upcoming seminars throughout the state is available online at www.scbar.org/clinics.
