It’s the perfect time of year to sit by the fire with a warm cup of your favorite drink and settle in to some great conversations. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to sit and talk with the likes of South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Donald Beatty, you’re in luck.

The South Carolina Bar Diversity Committee is launching its Virtual Fireside Chats on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. Join the Committee via Facebook Live as it goes “Beyond the Robe” with distinguished members of the judiciary.

As part of the SC Bar Diversity Committee’s upcoming series of Virtual Fireside Chats: Beyond the Robe, Beatty and other distinguished South Carolina judges will tell the stories of their journeys to the bench, experiences in the law and how they’ve strived to inspire and empower others over the course of their careers.

In the first event, Diversity Committee member Sutania A. Fuller will be joined by Chief Justice Beatty, South Carolina Court of Appeals Judge John D. Geathers, and South Carolina Circuit Court Judge Clifton B. Newman for an impactful and insightful discussion.

“Going ‘Beyond the Robe’ will be educational, inspirational, and empowering. We are extremely excited about the launch of this new series and all of the legacy conversations we will have with several members of the judiciary,” Fuller said

The Virtual Fireside Chats will be broadcast live via the SC Bar’s Facebook page, are open to anyone who wants to attend and registration is not required. Questions may be asked during the Facebook Live, or you may send questions before the event to Sutania A. Fuller at sfuller@lex-co.com.
