South Carolina Bar Admissions:
The Bar Admissions Office of the South Carolina Supreme Court is
responsible for processing applications to be admitted to practice law
in South Carolina to include supervising the administration of the
South Carolina Bar Examination. In addition to taking the Bar Exam,
before a lawyer may appear alone in any matter pending before a court
in South Carolina, certain trial experiences must be completed. These
trial experiences are outlined in Rule 403, SCACR.
Also, Rule 402, SCACR, which outlines the admission requirements, mandates the successful completion of the Bridge the Gap Program , which is sponsered by the South Carolina Bar. To learn more about Bridge the Gap and to access the application, click here.
