1. Call to Order and Welcome
Chairperson Brisbin introduced herself and welcomed the members of the Health Care Law Section to the Annual Meeting/Luncheon and CLE. The meeting was called to order.
2. Approval of Minutes from June 23, 2009
A motion was made and seconded to approve the June 23, 2009, minutes and was passed by acclamation.
3. Introduction of Council Members
Ms. Brisbin introduced the Health Care Law Section Council FY2009- 2010:
Mary Margaret Hyatt, Chairperson-Elect
Jane Trinkley, Vice Chairperson
Charles M. Jordan, Secretary
Cheryl Bullard, Immediate Past Chair/Section Delegate
Alissa DeCarlo
Judy Hamer
Travis Dayhuff
Tiffni Shealy
Kelly Jolley
William Thomas
Ms. Brisbin reported that the Section Council was in the process of identifying the goals for the Section for the current year. Two items of special interest to the Section Council were: (1) how to deal with a pandemic and H1N1 issues; and (2) the Stimulus Package and the changes to HIPAA provisions. Ms. Brisbin said that the Section Council would request an exchange of ideas from Section members on these and other issues throughout the year.
4. New Business
There was no new business.
5. Adjournment and CLE
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The meeting was followed by a two-hour ethics presentation by Barbara Seymour from the Office of Disciplinary Council.
