Government Law Section
This Section furthers the improvement and development of legislation pertaining to state and local governments and seeks to simplify and improve administrative and judicial procedures in the field of government law. The Section also provides programs for lawyers who represent clients before government entities; works with related groups to sponsor or publicize programs of mutual interest; and sponsors an electronic mailing list for members. The Section plans to resume publication of its newsletter; work with related groups to cosponsor programs and materials; conduct a membership survey; and identify and address ethical aspects of governmental law practice.
Section Goals
Establish a periodic Government Law Section Newsletter through the Section listserv and post on the Bar Web site.
Evaluate whether to sponsor a Section CLE at the Bar Convention.
Continue to sponsor a mid-year meeting.
Explore sponsorship opportunities with various organizations.
Continue to survey Section membership for topics of interest for seminars and the newsletter as well as obtain information on various services the Section can provide to its members.
