Family Law Section

Section monitors family case and statutory law and provides input regarding improvement of these laws. The Section also sponsors a seminar at the Bar convention, promotes Bench/Bar relations, annually updates the Family Court Handbook and sponsors an electronic mailing list for all Section members. The Section also plans to continue promotion and implementation of the National Partners Program.

South Carolina Family Court Handbook 2007

This project has been funded by the Section to help provide you with the most current tools for your work.
The Handbook includes compilations of the complete text of statutes dealing with all family law matters, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, and juvenile delinquency, current through the 2007 legislative session, and additional statutes dealing with special issues related to the practice are also included. Family Law Section Survey
The Family Law Section Council seeks input from family law practitioners about potential changes to the S.C. Family Court Rules. Survey responses will be compiled and submitted to the Family Court Rules Committee charged with overseeing amendments to the Rules. Please take a moment to complete this brief survey.
