Street Law
Date: April 7, 2008
Time: 9:30 - 4:30
Street Law will be offered to high school social studies teachers and school resource officers. Street Law is practical, participatory education about law, democracy and human rights. Through its philosophy and programs, Street Law empowers people to transform democratic ideals into citizen action with each student gaining lessons that can be used for life. Street Law, along with its comprehensive set of instructional supplements, is used in high school classrooms throughout the state and is on the South Carolina adopted textbook list. A hands-on opportunity will be provided with the text, in addition to a technology component to include working with the Street Law Web site. The Street Law training class will be limited to 24 participants, and teacher/school resource officer teams will receive priority. Please submit both applications together to be better recognized as a teacher/school resource officer team.
