Conduct a seminar, reception and Executive Council meeting in conjunction with the Bar Convention.

Arrange for members to be sworn in to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C.

Actively participate in the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism’s mentoring program.

Coordinate with local county bar associations on participating and promoting the Law Day Essay Contest, in addition to hosting a social event for the statewide essay winners and invited guests.

Seek partnership with the Young Lawyers Division regarding its interest in teaching the latest technology to members of the Division, “Reverse Mentoring.”

Coordinate efforts with the USC School of Law Pro Bono program by promoting and participating in the S.C. Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts project. 

Promote participation in the Center for International Legal Studies program in cooperation with law faculties in Eastern Europe and the former republics of the Soviet Union.

Explore partnering with the Bar’s Solo and Small Firm Section on establishing a Law Practice Continuity Subcommittee, which would focus on encouraging and enabling lawyers to plan for law practice contingencies by designating another lawyer to assume the lawyer’s practice or to assist in the transfer of client matters and files in the event that the lawyer has any physical or mental disability that significantly impairs the lawyer’s ability to practice law.

Explore travel destinations for members of the Division.

Educate members of the Division by providing useful “Quality of Life” information on entertainment, financial resources, health, etc. on the Bar website.

Continue to update members through the Division listserv, Bar website and various other media outlets.
