Section is actively involved in shaping and revising the Uniform Probate Code. It sponsors a CLE seminar at the Bar convention; monitors state and federal legislative developments; encourages members to become certified specialists; monitors unauthorized practice of law issues; and provides speakers for civic and community groups.
The Probate Estate Planning and Trust Section is calling for Council nominations for: Secretary (July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015) and two General Council Member seats (July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2017). Nominees must be a member of the S.C. Bar Probate Estate Planning and Trust Section in good standing. Responsibilities include participation in Council conference calls/meetings, and assistance with planning Section seminars and other projects. The Council meets each month via conference call.
