S.C. Bar to sponsor Law School for Non-Lawyers in Rock Hill

COLUMBIA, S.C. (February 24, 2011) -- The South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Program is sponsoring a seven-week Law School for Non-Lawyers program on Thursday evenings beginning March 17 and continuing through April 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. Classes will take place at York Technical College located at 452 S. Anderson Rd. in Rock Hill. The schedule is as follows

March 17 -- overview of state courts and alternative dispute resolution

March 24 -- juvenile justice and overview of child protection hearings

March 31 -- family law and real estate/landlord-tenant law

April 7 -- wills, estates and probate; health care and elder law

April 14 -- S.C. workers' compensation and employment law

April 21 -- bankruptcy law, consumer law and debt collection

April 28 -- criminal law and torts
