Columbia lawyer Mike Kelly featured in video series

September 06, 2011

COLUMBIA (September 6, 2011)—The South Carolina Bar has launched a series of brief videos featuring South Carolina lawyers. The videos present a glimpse into the lives of lawyers and their commitment to their clients and the community.

Columbia lawyer Mike Kelly appears in the series. All the lawyers featured in the videos come from diverse backgrounds and practice areas. Each relates his or her story about how they use their own experiences combined with their legal training to provide assistance, insight and empathy to the individuals they serve. To learn more about Mike, “like” the Bar on Facebook (www.facebook.com/southcarolinabar).

“Too often the legal profession is attacked, which can undermine the public’s trust of the legal system and the rule of law that is fundamental to our country. These videos portray who South Carolina lawyers really are and should restore some balance to the public’s perceptions,” said Bar President Marvin Quattlebaum. “They have the added benefit of exposing those considering a legal career to various practice areas and aspects of being a lawyer.”

One video is being shared each week through the Bar’s website, Facebook page and e-mail newsletter. All videos are housed on the Bar’s YouTube channel.

Other attorneys featured in the videos include Andrew W. Arnold of Greenville, Barbara Chesley of Columbia, T. Alexander Evins of Spartanburg, C. Allen Gibson Jr. of Charleston, Pat Henry of Myrtle Beach, Zandra Johnson of Greenville, Melissa Maddox-Barnes of Charleston, Keri A. Olivetti of Hilton Head, Rep. Tommy Pope of Rock Hill, Barbara M. Seymour of Columbia and Tasha B. Thompson of Florence.
