Electronic ballots for House of Delegates elections
Elections will be held for delegates to the House of Delegates in the 1st, 5th, 7th, 9th and 15th Circuits as well as for the Out of State Delegate. All eligible voters will receive an electronic ballot tomorrow at the e-mail address on file with the Attorney Information System. Please watch for your ballot. Cole scholarship applications for March CLE seminars due Feb. 27
Applications for Ronnie M. Cole Scholarships for March seminars are due Feb. 27. The fund provides scholarships to lawyers who need help with the cost of required CLE seminars necessary to maintain their law licenses. The scholarships will be used to attend qualifying courses offered by the S.C. Bar CLE Division. Any member of the S.C. Bar, in good standing, is eligible for a scholarship. The South Carolina Law Review presents On Task?: Expanding the Boundaries of Legal Education, a symposium focused on issues regarding how the market for legal services delivery continues to evolve. The event will take place Feb. 27-28 at the USC School of Law. Panelists will discuss topics including expectations of clients and firms in today’s market, changes within and outside of the JD curriculum, and new platforms in legal services delivery. SCWLA presents So You Want to Be a Partner?
SCWLA will hold the first of its Conversations Series, So You Want to be a Partner?, on Wednesday, March 12, at Richardson Plowden in Columbia. Tina Cundari of Sowell Grey, Suzi Grigg of Nexsen Pruet and Alana Williams of Nelson Mullins will discuss issues surrounding partnership, the different levels of partnership and expectations for each, and whether partnership is right for everyone.
