YLD mock trial experience
The YLD Professional Development Committee is sponsoring a civil mock trial experience for YLD members on Friday, April 4. Teams of two young lawyers will try a civil case in front of a panel of seasoned trial attorneys who will provide helpful feedback. The S.C. Bar Foundation will now be listing its tribute gifts online in addition to the quarterly newsletter, Foundation Brief. The S.C. Supreme Court reversed the decision of the Administrative Law Court, finding certain tourism-related expenditures did not comply with the S.C. Accommodations Tax Act. Accordingly, the Court reinstated the Tourism Expenditure Review Committee’s certification of noncompliance.

Justice Hearn dissented in a separate opinion in which Justice Beatty concurred.
