By order of December 19 the Court disbarred Michael T. Hursey Jr. for misconduct which included drawing improper deeds, having a deficit in his trust account, failing to properly supervise a paralegal, failing to file matters in domestic cases, failing to pay a court reporter, maintaining a webpage that contained profanity and nudity, failing to cooperate with the disciplinary investigation, failing to respond to charges and abandoning his law practice.

By order of December 19 the Court imposed a two year suspension (with additional conditions and retroactive to March 13, 2007) on W. Benjamin McClain Jr. for misconduct which included failing to properly supervise his bookkeeper (his wife) who embezzled in excess of $75,000 from the trust account.

By order of December 19 the Court imposed a public reprimand (with additional conditions) on Max B. Singleton for misconduct which included failing to timely communicate with clients, failing to timely respond during the disciplinary investigations, failing to comply with Rule 417 requirements and improperly soliciting a prospective client.

By order of December 9 the Court placed Magistrate Arthur Tuggle Bryngelson Jr. (not a Bar member) on interim suspension.

By order of December 9 the Court placed Sara Jayne Rogers on interim suspension. Steven Goldberg is the trustee.

By order of December 9 the Court reinstated Douglas R. Wright to the practice of law as an inactive member.

By order of December 6 the Court reinstated James Stone Craven to the practice of law.

By order of December 5 the Court disbarred Matthew Edward Davis for misconduct which included numerous traffic offense convictions, use of monies withheld from real estate closings to pay an unauthorized consultant rather than taxes, use of client funds to pay the premium on a title insurance policy when the policy could not be obtained, loss of funds of an heir who could not be located, failure to pay a title abstractor for work performed on behalf of Davis’s clients, and engaging in the unauthorized practice of law after being placed in interim suspension.

By order of December 1 the Court placed Tobias Horne on interim suspension. Philip J. Corson is the trustee.

The Court has accepted the resignation from the Bar of Dwight Lee Miller.

Sherri Lynn Pardue has resigned as a member of the Bar who was admitted pursuant to Rule 405, SCACR (Limited Certificate to Practice Law).
