Bill to extend FDIC coverage to IOLTA accounts signed into law
On December 29, 2010, President Obama signed into law legislation (H.R. 6398) that extends unlimited FDIC insurance for IOLTA accounts through December 31, 2012. To view the bill, click here.

Compliance reports coming soon
The Commission on CLE & Specialization will be mailing the 2010-2011 compliance reports within the next two weeks.  It is essential that you report any changes to your mailing address to the S.C. Bar. If there have been any changes, please contact Latoya Jackson at (803) 799-6653, ext. 137. Interest rate on money decrees and judgments set
By order of January 6 the Supreme Court has set the legal rate of interest for the period January 15, 2011, through January 14, 2012, for judgments and money decrees at 7.25 percent compounded annually. To view the full text of the order, click here.

Multistage bar exam fee
By order of January 6 the Supreme Court has amended Rule 402, SCACR, to set the fee for a request for verification of the multistate bar examination at $10.00. To view the full text of the order, click here.
