Volunteer for Special Olympics with YLD
YLD is partnering with Special Olympics to assist with the 2010 Fall Games on Saturday, November 6, in Greenville. Many volunteer opportunities are available (registration, score and time keepers, reporters, directing athletes to events, organizing lunch, etc.). Volunteers needed to assist military personnel with legal problems
The Pro Bono Program has reactivated the Legal Assistance to Military Personnel (LAMP) program which seeks to provide free or reduced fee legal services to active military personnel who are stationed in South Carolina or whose case is related to South Carolina. LAMP’s effectiveness depends entirely on the volunteers. The program seeks to offer assistance in many areas of law including: wills/trusts, powers of attorney, landlord/tenant, family, guardian/adoption, employment/labor, military and consumer. If you are interested in becoming a LAMP volunteer, please fill out this form or request more information by e-mailing ccoker@scbar.org or kelly.teague@scbar.org. 

Casemaker makes the case!
The Federal Rules Decisions are now available in the Federal Library on Casemaker, beginning with 247 F.R.D. 25 in 2008. Casemaker has added 22 volumes plus slips of the Federal Rules Decisions and will be adding more historical cases each month. Don't forget: if you want to know how current Casemaker materials are, simply click on the "Currency" link in each library for a summary. Advance Sheet update
October 27, 2010
The Court of Appeals dismissed this appeal of a special referee's order substituting two corporations as defendants in Appellant's case against Respondent because the special referee's order was not immediately appealable. The order was not final and did not fit within a statutory exception permitting an appeal from an interlocutory order.
