PMAP Tech Tip
Protecting electronic data is especially important for attorneys, who must consider both their own data as well as their clients’ data. Encryption—a process that protects data by making it unreadable to others—is one of the most effective ways to keep data secure. Fortunately, with the free, easy to use encryption options available today, anyone can encrypt their e-mails and important documents. Popular encryption products that are easy to use include
TrueCrypt and Viivo. Check out available PMAP resources for more articles and information on using encryption. Contact PMAP for free assistance with your law practice at pmap@scbar.org.
