This program is designed to provide attendees three hours of CLE that will meet the CLE requirements for
initial and post-accreditation required by the VA for attorneys who represent claimants before the VA. 38
CFR 14.629(b)(1)(iii-iv). Followed by an hour of ethics, the session will conclude with a wine reception and a great opportunity to network with other elder law and VA disability law attorneys.

REGARDING CLE PREREQUISITE
If you intend to use these three hours of CLE to meet the requirements for initial or post-accreditation, you
must already be accredited by the VA to represent veterans. To assist claimants in the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for VA benefits, you must be accredited by the VA. Attorney accreditation requires the following: (1) application (VA Form 21a) submitted to the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of General Counsel; (2) self-certification regarding admission information to practice before any other court, bar, or State or Federal agency; and (3) determination of character and fitness (absent credible information to the contrary, the General Counsel will presume an attorney’s character and fitness to practice before the VA if an attorney’s membership is in good standing with the state bar). Within 12 months of initial accreditation, an attorney must complete an approved CLE course for a minimum of three hours.

Attorneys shall certify completion of the initial CLE requirement and submit the relevant information to the
