ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The South Carolina Bar – CLE Division is holding our Second Annual “Ethics in 18 Holes” – Golf CLE Event. It
will be a captain’s choice golf tournament starting in the morning followed by a CLE (Ethics) program. The event is
unusual in that as play starts we give each golfer a booklet of ethical hypotheticals to be read and discussed during the
round. At the end of play, there will be an awards ceremony and 90 minute group discussion around the hypotheticals
led by SC Bar Risk Management Director Jill Rothstein. Everyone who plays golf then stays for the CLE, actually
get 3 hours (not 90 minutes) of MCLE/LEPR credit (you must attend the panel discussion to receive CLE credit)!

Spring Valley Country Club is located on 150 acres of the most beautiful terrain and elevations with large lakes, small ponds, wildflowers, natural flowering trees and wildlife, all still abundant in natures scheme. The 18-Hole Golf Course, designed by George Cobb and John B. Lafoy in the 1960s, rests in the midst of the first primary, upscale residential neighborhood in the Northeast area of Columbia. A canvas of Bermuda Fairways and Bent Grass Greens covering
18 different and distinctive holes provides a challenge to both the average golfer and tournament players alike. Truly a
year-round facility in the mild weather of South Carolina, the course’s unique bunkers and elevated tees provide a rare outing for men, women and children who are dedicated to mastering the game of golf.
