The South Carolina Bar does not have attorneys on staff to provide legal advice, assist with the filling out of forms, provide direct representation or offer you a second opinion. If you need the services of an attorney, you may contact the Lawyer Referral Service at 1-800-868-2284 or visit www.scbar.org/lrs for a referral to an attorney in your area. If you cannot afford an attorney, you may contact the Legal Aid Telephone Intake Service at 1-888-346-5592; they will screen you for legal services eligibility.
If your issues concern the ethical conduct of an attorney, you must address that complaint to the Commission on Lawyer Conduct. Information about that process is located on the S.C. Supreme Court’s website at http://www.sccourts.org/discCounsel/FAQ.cfm.
For information about other services provided by the S.C. Bar, including educational clinics, the Client Assistance Program, the Resolution of Fee Disputes Board or the Lawyers Fund for Client Protection, please visit our website at http://www.scbar.org/PublicServices.aspx.
Information about admission to the S.C. Bar is located at http://www.sccourts.org/bar/.
If you are a Bar member, your request will be forwarded to the appropriate staff member and handled promptly. A CLE calendar and publications store is available online at http://www.scbar.org/CLE.aspx.
If your request requires further attention, someone will be contacting you soon. We appreciate your taking the time to contact us. All feedback is gratefully welcomed and valued at the South Carolina Bar.
