It shall also serve as a reference point to facilitate cooperation with government agencies, non-governmental humane societies, rescue organizations, animal clubs, breeders of animals, and other entities and persons involved in legal issues affecting animals.
Humane Lobby Day - February 28, 2014
South Carolina's animal advocates will gather in their home districts for Humane Lobby Day 2014. Join HSUS state director Kim Kelly for a day that can make all the difference for animals. Humane Lobby Day is a one-day event when you can meet with your elected officials about animal protection issues in South Carolina. Don't worry if you're new to lobbying or are unfamiliar with the issues. What's important is that you're there to meet with legislators face-to-face. Read what animal advocates are saying about Humane Lobby Day. To RSVP for Humane Lobby Day 2014, click here. Someone wil contact you with the time and location of the event in your town after you register. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.

Holiday Pet Food Drive
The first-ever Holiday Pet Food Drive was a huge success! Committee members collected more than 1000 pounds of cat and dog food, which was donated to various pet food pantries and shelters throughout the state. Other donations included kitty litter, toys, dog treats, gift cards and money. Pet food pantries provide pet food to needy families so that more families can keep their pets instead of having to surrender them to a municipal shelter. The Committee thanks its volunteers for their support and Katie Phillips for her hard work and dedication to the project.
